Primož Roglič Wins: Jumbo Visma Takes Over Critérium du Dauphiné

"It’s crazy, Beautiful to achieve it "

Primoz Roglic

Primož Roglič won Critérium du Dauphiné along with his teammate Jonas Vingegaard. The Jumbo-Visma duo overpowered everyone and took over the one-week race.  Winning the race is nothing new for Roglič, in fact, he has been a favorite at Jumbo-Visma for quite a while now. What’s new is that there is now a new team favorite accompanying, and Roglič doesn’t mind sharing the spotlight.

Last Month, the Slovenian suffered a knee-injury which lead to doubts about his compatibility. But with the win at Dauphiné he has proved to everyone that he is in his best form. Primož took the overall win, while the stage victory was bagged by Jonas, but the upcoming tour in July can only be conquered by one.

Roglič was asked to comment on “who is the boss on bike” to which he said:

Everyone has their own part. Like today, the guys were incredible. Really big thanks to all of them

Primož Roglič has been a torchbearer for Jumbo-Visma and paved a path of being a leading stage team for them. He has been a three time winner of Vuelta a España, but he is still very humble on him being able to win the upcoming July tour:

The stronger the guys are around me, and the stronger I am myself, then the stronger we are as a team

He believes that it will be a team effort to win the Tour and that everyone plays a vital role:

Definitely at the end I don’t care who is winning or taking it. It’s a team sport. We try to do the best with what we have

Jumbo-Visma as a team has been performing outstandingly. Tiesj Benoot, Wout van Aert, Steven Kruijswijk, Chris Harper and Christophe Laporte everyone played their role thus proving that it indeed is a team effort which enables one to win such an event.

The 32-year-old made a comment on the team:

Super strong team, we had everything under control, not just today but the whole week. I’m pleased to be a part of it and we can achieve all these successes

He also said:

It’s crazy, Beautiful to achieve it

Jumbo-Visma’s strength has been questioned by many riders in the past week. Thus, this win not only answers those questions, but also clears  all doubts regarding the might and wrath of the team.
