The stage held at Hautacam, Lourdes, Tour de France, stood witnessed to great acts of sportsmanship. Rumor has it that on Thursday, 21st July, Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) waited on Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) as Pogacar took a skid on the road.

Both the leaders were deep inside an intense battle, furiously paddeling towards their destination, until Vingegaard skewed, followed by Pogacar. While Vingegaard regained balance, Pogacar was not so lucky. He lost controlled and rammed right near a gutter.

Whether it was the smell or his warrior sense, Pogacar mounted back on his bike and continued. It was clear in the live coverage that Vingegaard peeked back and then slowed his pace so that his competitor can join him.

As the Tour de France lion joined back the yellow jersey, he shook hands with his competitor. It came off as a gesture of goodwill. The duo then continued the chase of the group ahead, which consisted of, Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ), Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma)and Dani Martínez (Ineos Grenadiers).

The group fought its way to the final climb-Pyrenean- with a 2 minutes lead on Pogacar and Vingegaard.
