In a social media post, Egan Bernal wrote,

I almost killed myself, but you know what? I am grateful to God for putting me through this test. It is going to be the toughest race, but I have had a group of excellent people around me.

So now to recover and make this another… I’M BACK!! And let’s rock.

As we can see in the photograph taken above, Bernal seems cheerful, although he is wearing a neck brace he is still giving a thumbs up.

Clínica Universidad de La Sabana made the following official medical update,

At this time, the patient is in the third phase of the trauma, ready to start his rehabilitation process. He has no complications and all his injuries are stable and in the process of recovery.

What’s next for Egan Bernal? A long walk to recovery for sure, but he will be back with a bang, we know that for certain. Ineos Grenadiers is very supportive of Bernal and both of them will work together for an amazing comeback.
