Caleb Ewan Conquers The First Stage Of The Saudi Tour

"There's no better way to start the season than with a win, so I'm super happy with that,"

Caleb Ewan

Caleb Ewan just won his first race and that too at the Saudi Tour, the Lotto Soudal rider was able to sprint past Martin Laas (Bora-Hansgrohe) and Fernando Gaviria (UAE Team Emirates), Ewan’s performance was certainly graceful.

Ewan performed his role as the leader of the team, that is why his red jersey was shining on the race tracks. Riders from Lotto Soudal worked as the team and they helped push Ewan to the front of the race, although it seemed like a team effort, Ewan really outdid himself this time.

Caleb Ewan said,

There’s no better way to start the season than with a win, so I’m super happy with that.

The final 250 meters of the race were very crucial, to say the least, Jasper De Buyst piloted Ewan through a very tough situation, in the end, Ewan just had to push it to the end. Jasper himself landed in the fourth position thanks to his amazing performance.

Ewan stated after the race,

I’m super happy with how the team performed, I really got delivered perfectly. I think I only had to sprint for 100 meters so big thanks to them, they did a great job.

We have the strongest team here for sure. It’s a bit of a new lead-out with Rudi [Selig[ coming in and also Jarrad [Drizner]. They did a great job to come into the team straight away and integrate and do it perfectly like that.

This is not the last we will see of Caleb Ewan this season though, the Saudi Tour continues again on Wednesday and it will last through Saturday. Our fingers are crossed at yet another series of amazing races that we cannot wait for!
