As the trio approached the finish line, Wiebes launched a killer sprint and took the victory to her name. After the race had ended, a happy Wiebes took to the screens and said:

I’m really happy that I was finally able to race on the Champs-Élysées,As expected it was a hard race, but it feels really special to ride here around Paris and even more special to wear the yellow jersey.

The Team DSM rider took the yellow jersey as well as the green one on the very first day. Holding the yellow jersey at such a big event, is undoubtedly a feeling out of the world and Wiebes seems to agree as she said:

It’s amazing to have the yellow jersey,I’m really, really happy. The whole team deserves this after the amazing season we have had, and we are ready for the next ones.

Given that the stage 2 is also a sprint race, the chances of winning are high for Wiebes.  We can only wait to find that out.
