Token C28 Review
If you have heard about Token before this, you may have a less than a favorable notion of the brand. This is fair enough as they have been known to produce some components of debatable quality on occasion. However, this is all in the past and there is no better way to prove this than with the C28.
One of the more notable features of the C28 is, of course, its weight. It is certainly quite light which will greatly excite riders who put stock in such an aspect. Of course, with great lightness comes a few problems here and there. So, I was eager to see if Token had taken the time to iron some of these issues out.
Since it is largely specific to the slopes, I decided to hit up a hilly area. Now you can definitely notice that the weight – or lack thereof – really comes into play here. I managed to get up even the steeper slopes without breaking a sweat. What also really surprised me was the speed! This was because of the Diametric Spoke Pattern which helps with the power transmission. Of course with lighter bikes, heading downhill can be a bit tricky. Luckily, though, the bike is not overly light which meant that it kept steady going down the slope as well.
If you were to look for a fault with the Token C28, it would probably be the price tag. While not overly expensive, you will probably think twice before procuring this wheelset for yourself. However, as you can use it every day, it is a bit of a payoff.
- Great Climber
- Good stiffness
- Great transmission of power

The Token C28 is a great clincher wheelset when climbing. The lightness and power are absolutely amazing.
While it is an investment, you will find it to be a justifiable one.
