Fast Forward F4R Review
One thing that cannot be denied with the Fast Forward F4R is that there is a lot of attention to detail. It appears that almost every aspect of this wheelset has been well thought out. When you actually test out the wheels, you can’t help but agree with this sentiment.
Made from TC35 carbon, the F4R is not the lightest wheelset of the market. However, as we learned, this is not going to slow you down in the least bit. A feature that you should make note of, nonetheless, is the dual arc rim shape which is complemented by a 45mm rim depth. This is one of the most important aspects in limiting the amount of drag that you experience.
Once we had glanced over the F4R, it was time to get a move on. With practically no drag holding us back, we got up to a comfortable speed, fast. This is what showed us that extra weight really wasn’t much of a problem after all. You could easily compete with this bike and not feel held back by the weight at all.
What we really liked about the F4R, however, was that it boasted just the right amount of stiffness. This helped with the cornering at high speeds but was not overly stiff so as to make us uncomfortable. This shows that riding with the F4R on a daily basis really would not be a hardship. It was also incredibly durable in all types of weather with the brake track holding up even in rain. Even rough terrain could not slow down this wheelset.
