In an exciting turn of events, NBC Sports will be exclusively airing the Tour De France Femmes Avec Zwift in the United States, this comes in after they announced that they secured the rights on Wednesday. The event will be airing on both Peacock and CNBC in July.
This isn’t it, Race Director Marion Rousse also said that NBC Sports will be the event not just in 2022 but also in 2023. Marion Rousse stated:
I am delighted that NBC Sports is joining the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift broadcasters.
For the two first editions of the event, NBC Sports will provide women’s racing with the know-how it displays each year in its coverage of the Tour de France, and bring the excitement of the race to fans across the United States.
NBC Sports thus participates in the birth of possible vocations among young women, in a country where female cycling already occupies an important place.
This will be an event that will span for eight days, July 24-31. The total distance of the event however is going to be 1,029 kilometers. Tour De France Femmes avec Zwift will start at the Eiffel Tower and end at the summit of La Planche des Belles Filles, the race will certainly be a sight to behold.
Michael Perman, VP, Programming, NBC Sports stated:
We’re excited to further our relationship with the Amaury Sport Organization by adding this prestigious event to our cycling portfolio and to showcase the exceptional athletes who will be competing for the biggest prize in women’s cycling.
Apart from the glorious coverage that it will be getting, Tour De France Femmes avec Zwift will also be the richest event in the women’s Peloton. A whopping total of €250,000 on total and the winner will be getting €50,000.
We will have all the coverage on the event so stay tuned for updates!
