Ibis Mojo Review
The Ibis Mojo is a bike that we really wanted to review when we got our hands on it. It is meant to be an enduro bike, but is advertised as so much more.
It is able to perform crash landings from heights with ease, and is also able to take on small roots, bumps and more without having to slow down at all, simply because the hardtail rear is insanely flexible.
The best part was that even when we tested in on the downhill rides, it was able to keep up with rigs that have been made specifically for downhill riding. In addition to this, the bike was also more than ready to take on most of the climbs that we put it to the test on with a laugh!
While it did get a little creaky after the harsher, more grueling rides, it was overall a very durable bike that could hold its own anywhere.
+Pros:
- Great Shimano groupset and components
- Fox 36 Float fork with a carbon fiber frame
- High performance and endurance
- Great suspension
-Cons:
- Tended to get a little creaky at times
The Verdict
The Ibis Mojo is a cross country bike that truly lives up to the name enduro. It is able to withstand the stresses of the road and the trail with ease, climbing and falling like a pro.
We had a great time testing out the Ibis Mojo, and thought that as far as cyclocross bikes went, this one really took the cake. It had great components and even greater handling, and was definitely one of the best that we have seen to date.
// Ibis Mojo HD5X01 AXS Bike 2020More travel, more funIbis created the HD5 to be the ultimate 27.5″ brawler. The new bike features 153mm of rear travel like its little brother the HD4, but comes stock with a 170mm front fork that sits at 64.2 degrees. As with most current Ibis bikes, the seat-tube sits at 76 degrees and it features clearance for long dropper posts. Newly added internal cable tubes make servicing your cables much easier and Ibis also incorporated a Ripmo style lower link to reduce maintenance. As a final touch, Ibis increased the reach on every HD5 by 20mm compared to the HD4.At the heart of every Ibis full suspension bike is the DW-Link. DW was designed by Dave Weagle who is arguably the most renowned mountain bike suspension designer in the world. The DW-link design uses anti-squat to eliminate suspension bob, which minimizes pedal feedback caused by suspension movement. The design balances the effects of acceleration and braking forces providing improved traction and efficiency. If you want a bike that climbs amazing and showcases great small bump sensitivity and tracking, a DW-Link bike should be at the top of your list. The HD5 is Ibis’ first platform to feature “Traction Tuned Suspension”. The custom tuned suspension features extra light high-speed compression and rebound dampening which delivers unparalleled traction on the trail. The DW-Link suspension design doesn’t require loads of compression dampening to control pedal bob because the suspension kinematics take care of it. The result of the light compression tune is a bike that flutters over all terrain, making all conditions feel like hero dirt.FeaturesDW Link Suspension provides efficient pedaling while maintaining plushnessCarbon fiber monocoque frame is lightweight, strong, and ready to be abusedInternal cable routing protects cabling from the elements and keeps the frame looking sleekFox Performance suspension front and rear smooths out the trail in front of youSRAM X01 AXS Wireless 12-speed drivetrain provides an ultra-wide gear range to conquer every climb and descentInternal dropper seatpost provides a seamless transition between climbing and descendingSPECIFICATIONSFrameIbis HD5, Carbon, DW-Link, 12 x 148mm Boost, Internal RoutingForkFox Float 36 Performance Series 170mm, 27.5″, 110x15Rear ShockFox Float Performance Series, DPX2 with EVOL, 7.875 x 2.25HeadsetCane Creek 40: ZS44/ZS56ShiftersSRAM X01 Eagle AXS TriggersRear DerailleurSRAM X01 Eagle AXSCranksetSRAM X01 Eagle 175, DUB spindle, 32t Alloy RingBottom BracketSRAM DUB BSAChainSRAM X01 EagleCassetteSRAM XG 1295 Eagle 10-50BrakesShimano XT M8100 4-PistonWheelsetIbis S35 Alloy Rim, 32 hole, Ibis Logo HubsTiresMaxxis Assegai EXO + WT 27.5″ x 2.5″HandlebarIbis 800mm HiFi BarStemThomson 31.8mmGripsLizard Skin ChargerSeatpostSRAM Reverb AXS Dropper (125, 150 or 170mm)SeatclampIbisSaddleWTB Silverado Pro 142Intended UseEnduro, All-MountainWeightN/ANote: Components are subject to change without notice.METRICINCHIbis HD5SizeSmallMediumLargeExtra LargeA: Seat Tube Length356368419470B: Effective Top Tube582606635669C: Stack595611626640D: Reach427447472503E: BB Height351351351351F: BB Drop7777G: Head Tube Length109126142158H: Head Tube Angle64.2 deg64.2 deg64.2 deg64.2 degI: Seat Tube Angle76 deg76 deg76 deg76 degJ: Standover Height696710731750K: Chainstay Length430430430430L: Wheelbase1184121112431280Suggested Rider HeightFrame SizeSmallMediumLargeExtra LargeRider Height5’3″ – 5’7″5’7″ – 5’11″5’11” – 6’3″6’3″ – 6’6″Ibis HD5SizeSmallMediumLargeExtra LargeA: Seat Tube Length14.014.516.518.5B: Effective Top Tube22.923.925.026.3C: Stack23.424.124.625.2D: Reach16.817.618.619.8E: BB Height13.813.813.813.8F: BB Drop0.30.30.30.3G: Head Tube Length4.35.05.66.2H: Head Tube Angle64.2 deg64.2 deg64.2 deg64.2 degI: Seat Tube Angle76.0 deg76.0 deg76.0 deg76.0 degJ: Standover Height27.428.028.829.5K: Chainstay Length16.916.916.916.9L: Wheelbase46.647.748.950.4Suggested Rider HeightFrame SizeSmallMediumLargeExtra LargeRider Height5’3″ – 5’7″5’7″ – 5’11″5’11” – 6’3″6’3″ – 6’6″ | Ibis Mojo HD5 X01 AXS Bike 2020 Charcoal, Small
