The Turbo is one of the new Specialized bikes out there that has been made for the efficient urban commuter. It is one of the first attempts by Specialized to make an electric bike, and it is amazing at what it does. This is a bike that shows off the tremendous amount of R&D that goes into the designs made by Specialized.

Specialized Turbo Review
Specialized Turbo is an electric bike of epic proportions, making use of a gorgeous custom frame that has been the result of 5 years of design. Most of the components on the bike have been custom made for it, and this includes the dashboard, tires and charger.
This is a bike in whose design Specialized has spared no expense. One of the best things we noticed about the bike was that it is incredibly light at 47.5lbs, although there are lighter bikes out there. The battery of the bike is built right into the frame so that it doesn’t look disgusting, and the motor is in the rear hub.
In addition to this, it can be classified as a pedelec bike. Another thing we noticed about this breed of bike that Specialized is making popular with the Turbo is that they are expensive. However, the bike handles pretty well, and doesn’t have the problem of a throttle either, making it a smooth, simple ride.
- Electric for easier riding
- Smooth ride on streets
- Pedelec – no throttle
- Very light
- Quite expensive
The Specialized Turbo is a pioneering venture into the field for Specialized, and it is one of those bikes that will have you hooked, if you can afford it.
Overall, the experience that we had with the Specialized Turbo was very satisfying. While it wasn’t the best electric bike out there, it was one of the top tier bikes we have reviewed!
