Look 795 Review

The first thing that we noticed about the Look 795 was the price – coming in at over $8000, this was an aero bike we thought would have some of the most premium components out there.

The frame, fork and stem are all made in France by Look, and come with a proprietary crankset as well. Of course, the fact that all the parts were made by the company itself means that the bike is a lot more expensive than it could have been.

One thing we did notice, though, was that the gear set was a Shimano Ultegra Di2. This was a pretty big blow to our expectations, as one would have expected something far more valuable on a bike priced at this high a bracket.

In addition to this, there was an elevated tube on top that led to a lot of extra exertion on our part while riding. We also noticed that there were cables in quick release cylinders on the outside of the bike’s frame. While this is a good idea, it also reduces the aerodynamic potential of the bike!

+Pros:

  • Nice frame design and aerodynamic look
  • Internal cable routing
  • Very light indeed

-Cons:

  • Extremely high priced
  • Components aren’t great value for money
  • Aerodynamic potential wasn’t realized

The Verdict

This aerodynamic bike may have been made to compete with the professionals, but it falls short of being amazing because of some seriously strange design flaws.

We had fun reviewing the Look 795, but it did have a bunch of disappointing features that made it less than worth the price that we paid.
