Bianchi Intenso Review
If you are looking for a high-performance endurance racing bike for the best price, then check out the Bianchi Intenso. This bike has a no-nonsense design, geared entirely towards performance, even on those big climbs, with its stiff front end and Carbon and Kevlar fork. The Intenso makes it pretty clear to us why the Bianchi has been in the business for over a century!
Needless to say, the price of this bike makes perfect sense considering its specs. Minimalistic appearance aside, this baby sure delivered on our test rides through hilly and rocky terrain, curves and all! We especially loved the geometry of the frame and the compliance it affords.
Though it was generally pretty responsive, some of us felt the brakes just didn’t do justice to all the positives on this bike – they just lacked the kind of resistance you would need to take those sharper corners and slopes. It didn’t help that the wheels felt a little on the heavy side, and for an endurance bike, that kind of weight just might not cut it.
- Lightweight frame
- Geometrically optimal design for endurance and performance
- Smooth handling
- Stiff front end and
- Vibration damping frame material, so good with varying terrain
- Sluggish wheels
- Heavy brake levers
A pretty decent endurance bike on most terrains with smooth, responsive handling and vibration damping ideal for those mountain runs.
Despite the couple of shortcomings we’ve mentioned in our review, it should be pretty clear that this bike’s specs make it well worth the price. Most of us didn’t find the weight of the wheels and the brake levers much of an issue either, so all in all, the Bianchi Intenso is definitely a good buy!
