Norco Aurum Review

We are quite familiar with the first Norco, which we loved several years ago. We couldn’t wait to review the latest Norco Aurum model. From the outset, we could see that both models share a lot of similar features. However, Aurum does have some upgrades. For starters, the design geometry has been upgraded.

We took this model out for a spin on mountain bike tracks with moderate challenges. We have to say, we loved the new upgrades 27.5” wheels and the carbon fiber front triangle. These only make the 200mm of rear travel even easier than before. The 63° head angle is just perfect enough to give full control of the front tire when going downhill or trying to make a jump. There’s 12 x 142mm rear spacing to make riding uphill a very confident process.

The allow frame is 450 grams lighter in weight than before, which mountain bike riders will certainly appreciate. Combined with ART suspension, we found this bike model very easy on tough terrain. The downsides are that it doesn’t handle vibrations quite as well as rival models. Also, the price range is quite high too.

+Pros:

  • Great new design
  • Perfect head angle
  • New wheels for better navigation
  • Handles dirt trails quite well

-Cons:

  • Shock absorption not adequate enough
  • Expensive

The Verdict

If you are looking for a sports bike for racing and conquering tough and challenging trails, we highly recommend Norco Aurum bike model.

Though the price rage is quite high, it offers one of a kind design pros will enjoy. It’s easy to navigate with, especially when you are going downhill.
