Giant Enchant Review

Our review of the Giant Enchant went far better than we ever thought it would. The rigid aluminium frame was light, stiff and perfect for those steep climbs we tested the bike on. It was very responsive indeed, and contributed to the smoothness of the ride. It was geared with a 24 speed system that allowed us to accelerate really well on any terrain.

While it helped with speed that the wheels were the standard 26”, we had a rough time when testing the Enchant out on rougher terrain, due to the durability, traction and damping of larger wheels having been sacrificed for some extra agility and acceleration. One of the best things about this bike was that it was designed by women for a woman’s skeletal structure, making it one of the most comfortable bike rides we have ever had!

The fork of the bike was a budget SR Suntour M3030 75mm, which provided great control at a decent price, and was paired with Shimano EZ Fire gear shifters on the Giant Connect XC handlebars. The rims were Giant GX02 Aluminium double walled with steel spokes for a firmer, more comfortable experience. The wide diameter seat post also helped with this – the 30.9mm Giant Sport.

A feature of the bike that we really enjoyed was the fact that it is a hybrid design, made for all-terrain riding whether it is off-road or on.

+Pros:

  • Decent price
  • Designed for women
  • Comfortable seat post and saddle
  • Light frame
  • Smaller wheels for climbing easier
  • Very responsive

-Cons:

  • Bad on rough terrain
  • Lower traction than normal

The Verdict

The Giant Enchant is a sweet ride for all terrains, made for women who are serious about comfortable, fast and powerful bikes.

We had a blast reviewing this bike, and we were sorry to end our ride when it did. This was definitely a great look into Giant’s gender-specific line. The bike was comfortable, powerful and responsive, and gave us smiles all around.
