Cube Cross Review

These ‘hybrid’ bikes are always interesting to review. This is partly because these models have a lot to live up to. So, they can either fail spectacularly or outshine the competition. We were excited to see what the Cube Cross had in store for us.

The bike appears to be well designed and balanced properly. It is neither light nor heavy, it manages to toe the line between two of those categories. Regardless, the bike does appear to be sturdy and appropriate for various types of cycling.

Without much further ado, we got moving. We started out by taking it around the city. The bike offered a smooth ride, responding quickly to any maneuvering. While it was not overly fast, it certainly got us around without a problem. We were satisfied with what we had experienced.

We then decided to hit up something a little bit more challenging. The groupset on the Cube Cross is capable of taking a bit of abuse, although not too much. Therefore, we decided to head to rocky terrain that would prove tough but not ruinous. The bike did well, fielding most of what we threw at it. It went up inclines quite well although the Cross did perform much better when heading downhill.

The handling, steering, and the overall performance of the bike makes it a good option if you are not a designated cyclist. This way, you can ride around the city during the week and head off road during the weekends. This way, you will not have to invest in several bikes. As such, the Cube Cross is a good machine to have on hand.

+Pros:

  • Good frame
  • Works well on roads and rougher terrain
  • Good handling
  • Plenty of gears

-Cons:

  • Not suitable for extreme terrain
  • A little bit more expensive than other options

The Verdict

The Cube Cross is an excellent bike for the cyclist who likes variation in their machines. This bike caters to many different terrain.

With The Cube Cross, you do not really have to pick a field to excel in. You can hit up different locations and be confident that your bike will be able to handle it.
