Vitus Vitesse Review

Vitus Vitesse is definitely a modern race bike, but the looks can fool you. After reviewing bikes with propriety designs that largely verge on the weird and incomprehensible, we were glad to try out this classic racing bike design.

The Vitesse won’t please your eyes. The carbon frameset is mainly composed of straight lines and uncomplicated angles. Also, we didn’t see acronyms on every corner of the frame. This is a firm, no nonsense design for a race bike.

The Vitesse bikes weigh around 840 kg, which is not exactly feather light, but is not boulder heacy either. This respectable weight and stiff frames makes this bike highly responsive. Though traditionalist, the model makers have pushed the envelope when it comes to offering comfort. The seatstays are slim and the top tube is narrow enough to stay comfy even on long journeys.

This model offers decent speeds. However, the biggest downside is its inability handle impact and shock. We rode these bikes on some tough roads. The Vitesse rode fast but the ride was not at all comfortable.

+Pros:

  • Traditionalist design
  • Gimmick free
  • Decent weight
  • Reasonable price

-Cons:

  • Cannot handle shocks or impact well
  • Uncomfortable to ride on rough roads

The Verdict

Vitus Vitesse is the bike model traditionalists love to brag about. If you have difficulty getting used new designs, a Vitesse might be more suitable for you.

The bike offers excellent speeds and solid specs comparable with newer models with fashionable designs. The Vitus Vitesse will not let you down on your professional race, holiday or weekday commute.
