Specialized Demo Review

Most biker makers make an aluminum model first and then a carbon model. Not Specialized. With Specialized Demo, the brand goes straight for carbon and hope for the best. During our review, we realized that the brand made the right decision for this model. We can say with confidence that this model is one of the best downhill bikes currently available (some might even say that it is the best).

This model comes in four sizes depending on how tall the rider is. It’s important to note that the design is quite single-sided. We have only seen this type of design in other racing sports like motorbike swingarms. It’s truly unique to have in a bicycle.

The body is of course FACT 22 carbon, with carbon front triangle and a fully carbon link and rear end. The frame employs S3 Geometry. Rear shock is Custom Öhlins designed for high/low speed compression. So speeding with this bike is almost too easy.

We have to say this bike is mostly suitable for pros. The front end is made to be nimble, so can get easily out of control if you don’t know what you are doing.

+Pros:

  • Excellent carbon design
  • Good speeds
  • Unique frame
  • Easy to handle

-Cons:

  • Only suitable for pros
