Scott Aspect Review

These budget bikes from Scott Sports are not exactly the best you can get for this price range, but they perform well enough for some easy leisure riding and even for the commute. With a wide variety of wheel sizes, Suntour suspension forks, and Shimano-heavy componentry, these bikes can definitely get the job done.

At the best price, the Scott Aspect won’t cost you more than a couple of hundred dollars. If you’re not looking for competition or pro specs, you will definitely be happy with the performance and componentry of these bikes.

Scott aspect reviewd

Though these bikes are designed with race in mind as well, we wouldn’t be so quick to say they are competition-worthy. They are otherwise of moderate weight, precise, and offer good control. The forks are meant to be firm, but we would have preferred a bit more travel. Other than that, the bikes were smooth and controlled enough to serve their purpose.

+Pros:

  • Decent componentry
  • Combination Shimano and Tektro componentry
  • Affordable
  • Versatile
  • Great for basic trails and commutes
  • Controlled, mostly smooth handling

-Cons:

  • Not enough travel on the fork
  • Not ideal for race or competition

The Verdict

These bikes are good options for budget buys with functional specs and designs, and are suitable for leisurely rides through the city or mild trail rides.

We were overall pretty happy in our review of the Scott Aspect bikes, considering their purpose. If you need a budget buy for basic needs, then you shouldn’t hesitate to pick up one of these. You can always upgrade parts without draining your wallet.
