Ribble R872 Review

We really looked forward to the review of the Ribble R872 because of the legend that came before the bike. From the price to the gorgeous carbon frame, we were transported to another dimension during our test rides.

The frame is made of Toray T800 carbon fiber, and has a very good set of options in terms of gearing and cable routing. This is done by some really well thought out internal routing. The gearing and chainset is a Shimano Ultegra Di2, one of the best in the business at this price range.

We noticed a very smooth 105 chainset, along with brakes of the same models. The entire bike is very light indeed, which allowed us to zoom along the streets of our testing location with little to no problems.

In addition to this, the Mavic Aksium wheels and Aksion tires made for a pretty potent combination on the street. Best of all was the seat and saddle combination of a Selle Italia spec.

+Pros:

  • Solid, powerful ride
  • Not many bumps are felt
  • Beautiful carbon fiber frame
  • Amazing groupset

-Cons:

  • Not made for climbing

The Verdict

A gorgeously designed bike that is made for the streets and made to zip along like a lithe, amazing butterfly. This is one for the history books.

The Ribble R872 is the perfect bike for us, because of the many amazing features it has to offer for the surprisingly decent price. If you’re looking for a great road bike, this is the way to go.
