KTM Revelator Review

KTM Revelator does not necessarily stand out in a very saturated market. It’s a road bike with a high-performance carbon frame and a matching fork, also carbon. This is certainly the only bike model that comes in a fiery orange color. Though the outwards looks can be appealing, we reviewed the model to see if the specs were as impressive.

Though we liked reviewing the Revelator bikes, we can’t say there were any outstanding features to impress us. Compared to the previous KTM bikes, the Revelator certainly has improved features. One of the biggest letdowns, however, was the Shimano’s Dura-Ace Di2 groupset. The new model has not upgrade this subpar spec.

The seatpost junction has undergone a redesign, so rear end is more stiff and the bikes can maintain a more aero profile. Thanks to simple design choices like this, the Revelator can handle it’s own against big brands like Cube, GT and Giant.

As for performance, it was better than we initially expected. It’s not outstanding, but it’s not bad either. It offers a rather nimble ride, but shock absorption could be better.

+Pros:

  • Revamped design
  • Redesigned seatpost
  • Flashy colors available

-Cons:

  • Retains Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset
  • Not outstanding compared to bigger brands
  • Shock absorption could be better

The Verdict

KTM Revelator is a solid, moderately good bike model to own. You might be disappointed that this model doesn’t impress you, but you won’t be let down by it either.

It’s good at handling a number of terrains. Many features have undergone redesigns so the model is better than it has ever been.
